Going through all the trouble to organize the uprising just to get one container?
Rather unlikely. The container could have been confiscated, or simply stolen silently over night.
Remember that the container was stored in the wrong place which made the theft much easier.
I would rather accept the theory that the riots were part of a test run, or instigated for some reason and that made the container's theft much easier.

Re: 1 million 9mmP rounds stolen from the Durban port
^ This. I also don't think the real baddies in the KZN ANC are in any way short of access to ammunition. They control the police, metro police and almost certainly much of the army too. Even if that doesn't give them enough guns and ammo there's the mountains of materiel that were stashed away up until the '94 elections. Most of that has never been traced officially.

Oh and no mention about the ammo stolen during the looting. The blame is always shifted to lawful firearm owners.

Write emails to editor@ewn.co.za complaining about it giving details of what you are unhappy about. Posting about it here, other than to alert everyone else to it is a waste of keystrokes.
