    Default Dry Fire Aids

    Hi All,

Looking at a few dry fire aids and wanted some feedback. Mantis X (X2 / X3) look really great but also looing at G Sight laser with a Kieron target (Think G Sight Laser works with Kieron).

Any feedback on the 2 products?

Any other products out there that should be looked at?

    Thank you.

I have a mantis X (for sale in the for sale thread actually)

It works pretty well, but you get bored very quickly.

At the risk of stating the obvious, the one big eye opener was that dry fire is not the same as live fire.

Eventually I could dry fire and score at close to 100% on their scoring system all day long, but then try to do the exact same in live fire. Lucky to score 75%

Knowing there is no round in the chamber just removes all recoil anticipation. Took me many range sessions and more dry fire to sort out, it does help though.
I would say the big takeaway is you know what a good shot feels like, and you know when you've pulled it.

They both have their own advantages, but I have found that using them both in combination works the best for me.

Most of the top sport shooters in the country dryfire with a gun, some mags and targets and a timer. That is it, the gadgets and tools are nice, but they are not a shortcut to putting in less work for the same results. IMO the laser systems are not needed to be successful in dryfire.

A doppie on the slide of your pistol. Been using that old to trick to kill off a trigger yanking/snatching problem that has popped up with me recently.
