Re: Dot Torture
Run it on an A4 and start at about 3m. Once you can shoot it clean then move out.

Re: Dot Torture
My wing span is maybe 1m. So starting at 3 is a super idea......
Looks like fun......

Re: Dot Torture
my wife and I commited to this once a week before we shoot anything else or just fooling around. I have a bittersweet feeling about this.....I can see how bad my accuracy was, but it improves every time (if a don't try to rush). I think it is important that if you practise (any skill - I'm a musician as well and it works pretty much the same), you must practise something constructive. Don't just fool around and burn powder for the heck of it!

So with training for Champs in full flight, I have turned to dot torture to sort out some accuracy issues.
I have committed to 200 dot tortures this month.. Will see how much it helps and share as I go along...

Erm, came by to update and checked my typo... 200 in a month would mean I would have to stop working..
That was meant to be 20..
Anyways... Shot the first 2. Bearing in mind that I had never shot dot torture before this weekend, it was quite an eye opener..
The accuracy beetle is not a very obedient beetle, neither is the speed beetle..
Found out quickly that discipline is required to hit the little dots.. Man this is torture...
The first dot torture was a bit disappointing, scoring around 30 put of 50.. The realization that I needed to slow down was apparent.
Put that to one side and moved onto some FAST drills at 6.4m.
Head shots were all pulled low and after some BBM to my private tutor :) we managed to rectify the issue and get some damn good shots in the head.. 7 pounds of pressure on a 4 pound trigger affect accuracy quite a bit it seems.
Did about 80 rounds of FAST drills, best being 5.7s. A good starting platform for the training I plan to do this month.
Cooled down with another dot torture, this time managing to keep the speed demons at bay and get 45 out of 50 for my efforts.
I still find I tend to get sloppy as I tire, obviously the training is much needed ( more than I initially anticipated)
All dot tortures were run at 5m and will be for the foreseeable future..
