Electronic safe for a pistol?
Hi guys
Been searching for a suitable safe with a keypad to unlock. Aware of the SABS 953-1 requirements but only see certified ones with keys.
Anyone got an idea if those Yale burglar ones are SABS compliant or any other suggestions?
Thx

Quite alarming how easy they are to open.

Re: Electronic safe for a pistol?
If 'real' electronic safes exist I'm sure they will be cripplingly expensive. The only ones I've ever encountered first hand were airsoft grade at best.

Re: Electronic safe for a pistol?
I had a safe with a battery and central locking motor attached to the lock but I took it off. I was too scared it would fail one day.

Cheapish electronic safes are for the movies only.
Not sure about the quality of the high end electronic rifle safes like Liberty though.

Re: Electronic safe for a pistol?
Simpson safes make a proper certified one
around R4,500 at Safari for a 30x30x30 one
With regular key same safe is R2,600

Re: Electronic safe for a pistol?
For my curiosity, what is the advantage of a coded over keyed gunsafe?
