E Category endorsement was formerly for possession / use of "Military Style Semi-Automatic" (MSSA). Revoked since March 2019.
C Category endorsement allows possession only of selective fire long arms, machine guns, cannon, rocket launchers, pistols etc. There are sub-categories for museums, reenactors (firing blanks) etc.
P Category endorsement allows possession of semi-automatic long arms and sub-categories exist that permit use (pest control) as well permit possession of prohibited magazines (centrefire +10 rds).
B Category endorsement allows possession and use of pistols on a NZP approved pistol range.

Restrictions on ammunition, no tracer, no CHICOM x39mm or SS109 etc.

CZ Scorpion EVO 3 carbine and pistol
    Beretta CX4 Storm carbine
SIG Sauer SIG MCX and SIG Sauer SIG MPX carbine and pistol
Swiss Arms Classic Green and Four Seasons series (as specified in former Bill C-71)
Also now prohibited are firearms with the following characteristics:
capable of discharging a projectile with a muzzle energy greater than 10,000 Joules

And the new fca amendments ,actually even currently, can also do all of that at a stroke of a pen.

100% correct, but this was done in response to the Christchurch and Nova Scotia mass shooter attacks.
