I don't think he is a 'rookie' driver in the same way as I'm a rookie rifleman. I remember watching a Top Gear episode where Hammond took about a dozen tries to drive a then current F1 car onto the track. When he eventually got that right he spun it wildly on the the first corner as far as I can remember he didn't finish a continuous lap .

What I meant was the gist of the thread is skill and experience, you can give anybody that rifle and most people wont make that shot.
Not that equip doesnt matter, just saying, its like a middle aged man thinking he can do a wheelie on a bike with no practice.

Makes me think of a friend who mounted a 3-9x40 scope on his T56 Norinco and proceeded to hit gongs out to 500m with boring regularity. And no, it was not a huge gong, 300mm diameter at the most.
