Thank you, everyone, for the warm welcome.
I was in the regular Navy from 1988-1992, attended university from ‘92-‘95, back into the regular Navy ‘95-2001, and finally began working for a large DoD company in May 2002: field work for the first five years, then test engineering for 12, then back to the field for the last two years, supporting a Navy surface combatant program here in Jax.
I’ll apologize in advance for my nonexistent Afrikaans, though my SA acquaintance in the other forums has been introducing a few words here and there for us to chew on. Many of you speak multiple common SA languages and being multilingual is common outside the U.S..
I know and admit we are largely living in our own universe here, though you may come to find me as irritated and disillusioned with our lot as you yourselves rightly perceive these days. Your mate throws it at us too, and reminds us to keep perspective on just how good we yanks (his term, not mine, I live in the South) still have it across the pond. So feel free to raise issues, and don’t be alarmed by my responses if I weigh in. Like as not, I’ll agree with most all comments. I love my country but despise our leadership…top to bottom.
