    Hi Everyone.
    As a potential new firearm owner (doing my competency and Proficiency on Tuesday), the wealth of knowledge on this group is amazing. Thank you for everyone for the contributions.
    Can anyone recommend a shop that sells a 3 or 5 rifle safe that meets the necessary requirements in the Gauteng area. Possibly someone that sells refurbished safes.

    @Sheldon Goodburn,

    Greetings, I’m in Roodepoort I bought this safe from Builders when it was on special, but yes Google and Facebook market place with help you a lot with your search. Anyways all the best with your competency and Proficiency.

    You can also try Reble Rifle Safes. Gerhard. He is in Randburg and has an array of safes to choose and well priced.

    I can't imagine buying a new safe. They don't easily wear out and consequently are an excellent candidate for second hand purchase. I'd recommend making a daily routine of checking the usual online market sources and jumping on one when they pop up. I bought the 5 slot version of the one above for R1k off vleisboek market place as an example.

    Remember, just because they call it a “5 rifle safe”, doesn’t mean you can get 5 rifles in it.

    Due to the size of my scopes, my 4 rifle safes only fit 3.

    Thanks, excuse my ignorance, would it not be better to have your scopes detached from your rifles while in the safe? Or is that too much of an issue.

    That would then require zeroing the rifle every time it gets taken out.
