    Default Always keen to learn

Hi all. I've downloaded the site a while ago but didn't get the hang of utilising it properly.
If I can just introduce myself....
Yazied, western cape, awaiting response on new firearm license application.
I submitted my application 23 April 2021 and find it extremely difficult to get feedback on the status of my application.
May I please request some advice as to what the correct process is to follow in terms of receiving an update.

    Thank you in advance.

    Good day and welcome :)

You can get an update yourself if you follow this link to the SAPS website.
Alternatively, you can download a great app for your Android phone here

On the app or website, using your ID Number and serial number.

Check location, it should hopefully be at CFR by now. It is nearly at 120 Working days

Depending on location, can email the relevant people for an update. Especially if it is stuck in 1 place for a while.

Thanks for the assistance people....this was the response received. Tried all the available entries.
    Perhaps I'm doing it incorrecetly.....
    2 options that's coupled together.
    1 of the 3 pairs.

I'm not sure if I'm entering it properly.

Make sure you don't use auto-fil. Doesnt bring up the results. Type each entry in

So I've now attempted every combination pair.....ID, serial #, Ref # and even entered all at once, no luck with a result or any sort of response. I have also freshly re-entered as opposed to auto-filling the required information.
The picture shows the last response....

Ps. Thanks again for the guidance. Much appreciated

The SAPS86 is the incorrect ref number, once the application is captured on firearm system you get another ref number .... normal numeric number for new licence and C number for competency.

Use your ID number and firearm serial number as search criteria and always use capital letters (no small caps). IF you still dont get results call your DFO as the application might still not be captured.

Ref number should be 7 numbers long.

I like to use the last line, just punching in ID and Firearm Serial number. Then when results load, I get the actual reference number. Hope that helps.
