Exactly my thoughts.... is it too much to ask that public officials actually get off their butts and do their fcuking jobs!???

This attitude is also like those signs that you come across periodically on the roads which say "hijacking hot spot". I mean c'mon!!!

I saw another incident on Friday where a policeman was spiked. Same stretch of road, the R80 outside Soshanguve. The cop shot the perp in the head though. Pretty graphic pictures doing the rounds, you can see the perp's load shedding kicked in before he even hit the ground.

The solution at Umkomaas pedestrian bridge was a multi million rand cage to stop items being thrown off

Instead a couple of cheap 9mm shots into criminals

^ This. I had to explain to a foreign colleague what that shit was all about and he just could not get that we put up signs rather than deploying law enforcement. For a minute or two he genuinely thought I was taking the piss.

It’s a bit like the pothole warning signs.

Great news,I think we need to educate one another on protocols that should be taken if we fall in such a situation and how to take control of the situation

I remember in India those are called "Monkey Cages". Nowadays I see more and more of them in South Africa too... What we shall call them? In South Africa, 'Monkey Cage' might be seen as racist

"Redistribution cages" as within days of them being installed they will begin to be recycled just like our passenger rail system recently was. Get Mbaloser on the job quick.
