Default 6.5 x 58mm Ammunition or shells for reloading

    Hi everyone,

A friend of mine has a Swedish Mauser circa 1890's and is looking for ammunition or shells for reloading in a rare 6.5 x 58mm . Does anyone know who may be able to help or where to find this?

There is an option to change the rifle to suit a more modern round but this is not something my friend wants to do.

    Thanks.

Is that a rimmed cartridge? A photo will be great to see what you have.

Same Calibre as Portuguese Mauser. Very hard to find dies to reload. I have placed an order in the US for such a die and I was told to expect a 2’year wait.

The Potugese Mauser dates from 1904. There are two other 6,5's with a 58mm cartridge.

    1. 6,5x58R (Sauer)
    2. 6,5x58R Krag-Jorgensen

I saw Portuguese 6.5x58 Mauser dies at Zimbi for about 3500, Stewart Bullets reforms 3006 cases at R45 a pop, at that rate my 1904 is still sitting unfired as it’s stupid stupid money. That being said if loaded to original specs these old 6.5 rounds seem to be very capable and quite pleasant to shoot
