Re: AK optic mount options
I fitted a promag side rail and mounted a sightmark holographic sight (think a-spec). Raild runs a bit high but does allow for sufficient room to be able to service the gun. I do enjoy shooting the gun a lot more with an optic.

Re: AK optic mount options
I have fitted the Premier Shooting master mount https://cerberustac.co.za/rails-moun...271000200.html with a 1-6x24 Primary Arms SLx https://drdistributors.co.za/online/...00blk-reticle/
Very happy camper. Master munt is expensive, built like t34.
All available in good old RSA and both Louis and Alex are good guys

Re: AK optic mount options
Imo any mount that results in the optic dot sitting/indexing higher than irons will influence the AK optimal cheekweld and then you will need to get a cheek riser of some sorts.
The Ultimak and MI gas tube rail will give you optimal cheekweld and co-wit.
It gets hot on the gas tube so a premium rds like an Aimpoint Micro is advisable. I have no experience on how the mini dots will hold up with the heat.Last edited by DS; 27-07-2022 at 12:47.
