338 WIN MAG reccomendation
So I'm in the market for a scope for a 338 win mag.
ostensibly bought it for heavier soft skinned game (other rifle is a 303) and maybe some longer range work.
Primary purpose is for hunting though..
so i thought i would pick your brains - its a minefield out there , yes I know you get what you pay for , but im looking for a good balance.( based on your experiences)
and.... GO !......
ps - many thanks in advance , regards Rob

Re: 338 WIN MAG reccomendation
As mentioned, it will depend on your budget. I have been using a Leupold vX-6 3-18x44, with zero lock turrets for a while now. It has seen service on a .300 win mag, a 6.5 Creedmoor, a 9.3x62 and a 7x57. it is a very versatile scope, at 3x it works well for close range hunting, it has more than enough magnification for hunting at long range and I have shot gongs with it out to 800m. The zero lock turrets make dialing for distance and windage easy.
Glass is good and tracking reliable. If it fits into your budget it is definitely worth considering.
