    1. Affiliation to SAPSA and your local IPSC Club.
    2. Magpul magazines.(Don’t get tempted for anything else.)
    3. Bulk ammo
    4. S&W 15-22

The rest will come once you have spent some time at matches.

Congrats! You’re on an exciting path!

If it damages cases then the gun is crap.Triggers are much the same. On decent quality guns the machining is good and it is unnecessary to replace them. The cheaper guns seem to have rougher castings or inferior material which leads to a gritty feel.

2 mags may last a lifetime but definitely not advisable. At R400-R500 a mag getting a few spare mags is a no brainer. And keeping a few loaded in the safe is a good idea.

    Disagree on the mags.

Decent GI Mags are just as good, as are Lancers, Battle Mags and Wilson Combat...

I'm not convinced that practicing a thousand odd shots with a GI trigger is better value than just dropping a modern trigger into the gun for the same money. I could be wrong. It could be building a solid foundation, so I'm open to debate. But keep in mind that rifle ammo is more expensive than pistol ammo, and the reloading process more involved.

I have no reservations about optics or sights, though. We improve by doing something, comparing the output to the input, and strengthening pathways when the results are good. If you're not sure about the input, you're just building fuzzy pathways.

Most AR15 mags are good to go, I have a few Troy Battle mags and the only reason why I prefer Magpul is the cost.

Couldn't agree more, once you go Geiselle theres no going back.
