Default Browning High Power (FN Herstal) questions

Hi guys, I bought this BHP out of an estate couple of months ago and just collected the firearm. Its a BHP made by FN in Herstal Belgium.
    Attachment 34028Attachment 34029Attachment 34027

Can the knowledgeable guys please assist with the following:

    1. Can these models fire modern 9mm +P+ ammo?
    2. Any way to determine the age and history through the serial number?
    3. Do they have any special value or are these BHP's readily available?

    Thanks for the assistance guys!

Why would you want to shoot +p+? Not EDC, so not SD.... So no need for +p+. Or do you have a special interesting use or plans? I am just curious.

    This is a terrible firearm!
    Its so heavy & bulky
It might blow up in ur hand
You should get rid of it, i can collect from you to do the neccessary....
    Only kidding.
What a beautiful piece you got there...
Get urself a holster high enough to cover the hammer
Your tshirt & car seat wont appreciate it
