Which ever way you go... Just get it started..prices are increasing all the time... I licenced my G19 on S13....my spare gun will hopwfully go on S15....as mentioned here... The bill won't be passed any time soon...but remember you are also losing time waiting... Good luck.

I tend to agree with what is being said on the thread:
License the FA for its intended use (section 13)
Get another one under a section 15
Go to the range and spend time on the range with both of them.

I have one FA under sec 13 and have spent time and money on range time and self defense courses and i am starting to get into the steel plate challenge stuff so I have licensed another FA under sec 15.

One of the reasons I also went for the sec 15 was that if i use my sec 13 FA in a self defense scenario (lets hope this never happens) then at least i am not stuck without and FA for a few years while SAPS do the ballistics... which may be a reason to start with a few Section 16 licenses.

Well gents, I have purchased a Glock 19 gen 5 on a black Friday special Now just need to get the app in and then get comfy for the long wait! I was told the average wait for a license is 8 months now. Crazy! Thank you to everyone for all the advice

Don't bother with a handgun safe, buy a rifle safe from the start, If you haven't done so yet, do your other competencies now, they only get more expensive and take longer as time passes.

Fantastic advice. Wish I did this 6years ago. Now it feels I'm starting again.

It basically is if you do them one by one.
