Default Adventure on the orange river

Living right next to the river i used to do a lot of trips on the Orange, ranging from 1 day to 6 day trips. Recently a friend asked me to act as guid for his and a friends family. I recently started doing a lot of youtube videos and recorded teh 3 day trip.

The Orange is a great place for adventure. |Probably the last really unspoilt area for adventure.

Going down the Orange in March 2022. Trip being postponed 3 times since 2020 thanks to CoViD.
Went down 30 yrs ago as a lightie.

Can you still drink the river water, or is that a big no no?
Want to make sure I have enough space for my beer

I used to drink it straight from the river till about 12 years ago, not anymore. We do checks of the water quality and it depends on the level of the river, but I don't think it is a good idea anymore.

The trips in this area are generally done on you own steam, own organization and equipment. I can provide you with the GPS tracks to get you through.
The one operator that really knows the area and have done trips if you want to do it with an operator is Ingwenya tours . Other operator operate lower down and higher up on the river, but the section here is the most exciting .
