So China starts their version of "colonialism", and some people are freaking out. What's up with that?

Like we did not learn our lesson the first time? Do we have to repeat colonialism just under different masters? Because the europeans did it before, we now have to be happy the chinese are doing it? What's up with that?

I’m confused…did not the Europeans originally colonize southern Africa?
(I’m still studying the contemporary geopolitics of Africa as a whole).

The sounds I make using the loo in the morning make more sense than Brandon does in any interview.

China (or rather, the Chinese Communist regime) is a totalitarian dictatorship that murdered more of it's own citizens than Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union put together, is busy committing genocide against it's own people as we speak (the Uyghurs, who are being thrown in concentration camps and subjected to torture, rape, brainwashing and forced into slave labour).

It restricts freedom of worship and is literally forcing Christian Churches to worship the Chinese Dictator, Xi Jinping, as a god, and routinely violates it's Agreement with the Vatican that would have (presumably) guaranteed Churches freedom of worship and freedom from state interference. It also violently and viciously suppressed the Falun Gong Buddhist movement despite the group being nonviolent and apolitical.

It invaded a sovereign country, Tibet, and systematically destroyed it's culture via forced mass migration of Han Chinese (which is ethnic cleansing) and violent suppression of all dissent.

It has destroyed freedom and political autonomy in Hong Kong, in violation of a treaty signed with the United Kingdom in terms of which Hong Kong was returned to them.

They prop up some of the most vicious, evil regimes in the world like Venezuela, (North) Sudan, the Burmese Junta, and the Taliban Dark Age Pedophile Cult in Afghanistan. (The regime in Equatorial Guinea, the home of the proposed Naval Base, is one of the most repressive and abusive in Africa, if not the world).

Unlike the US they don't even pay lip service to human rights, political freedom etc. and shamelessly shower tyrants with weapons and money in exchange for economic subservience.

Anyone who admires and defends this evil, barbaric regime is clearly mentally unwell, or just plain evil. Our country should instead be distancing ourselves from them and reducing our economic ties. There is simply no moral equivalency between the United States and this regime
