Re: Firearms Guardian Insurance
I had a quick look. Sounds interesting but I guess like with any insurance the proof is in the claiming.

Re: Firearms Guardian Insurance
I get R5m personal liability cover for R5 a month included in my regular insurance policy. These guys offer R300k for almost R300 per month. It feels a bit expensive to me. Granted, I don't get the self defense legal cover and I really want that, but I still feel the premiums are a bit high.

Re: Firearms Guardian Insurance
Anyone had any recent experience/claims with this company?

Re: Firearms Guardian Insurance
I personally do not think R300k is adequate cover.
We had a minor dog bite incident a few years ago, and the claim paid out on our behalf by Outsurance was just under R280k

Re: Firearms Guardian Insurance
Read the FINEPRINT. Specific the exclusions. Think my current Personal insurance offers much more at a much better price. Not a Law expert, but I see the same cover as the other insurance that did not get off the ground. For e.g. cannot use BG gun to defend yourself. Cannot give your gun to wife to help shoot. Cannot use when you run your business etc etc.

Re: Firearms Guardian Insurance
Yep. It's why GOSA abandoned that project and went with the model we currently have. Danie and I had endless meetings with the underwriters and we just couldn't get them to see reason.
Our current legal cover is entirely in our own hands and subject to our own (very broad) interpretations. Works great."Always remember to pillage before you burn"

GOSA + Personal Liability on "Multiplex" type insurance is what I have. Really hope never need any of it.

Re: Firearms Guardian Insurance
This served as a handy reminder. Went to check my GOSA membership and realised that it had lapsed. have just renewed it and will diarise renewals for future.
