    Default Blue Crane with Chicks.

    Two different pairs photographed in the past couple of days. In the second picture the chicks are barely visible, you can just see those little ginger heads in the bottom right corner.

    Ok this is my favourite TStone pic so far, see these birds quite often along the N2 Caledonian area Western Cape. But I have never seen the young.

    Almost always two. I've never seen three.

    This year with the long grass, we've had the best rainfall in 10 years, they are hard to see and harder to photograph.

    They are often in the company of sheep for some reason.

    We don't have sheep, however, I often see them with sheep on neighboring properties, almost always where the supplementary feed for the sheep are put out. And that, I think, is the reason.

    Wonderful, they remind me of ostrich chicks
