I see that Truvelo has come up with a modernized R4/R5.

Would they still feature a 1:12 twist rate though?

Sorry my mistake the Truvelo Raptor project is twelve years old so not exactly news. It never went into production.

Still a high end AR in the mid twenties is a game changer.

I really don't understand why manufacturers make a 300blk in anything longer than 10.5"
All the data is there to show there is a complete powder burn wat around the 9.5" mark depending on powder. So you're not really gaining anything with a longer barrel.

I guess the only real reason for a longer and I mean 16" barrel is for the USA, and their SBR laws.

The SANDF doesn't have money to maintain their existing equipment and sometimes pay salaries. Seems a new camo style uniform is a higher priority and probably because someone somewhere is getting a back hand deal. The R series rifles will stay for a long time, with all the other 70s era equipment.

I'm happy to see Truvelo have entered the local market. I can't waite to see one of their rifles.

Does the longer barrel also perhaps help with flash and bark?
