Default DIY Leather "side car" AWIB mag caddy

So a few years ago I veg tanned some kudu skins and have slowly been making things for myself and family (wallets, licence card holders, blacksmithing apron etc).

Recently I decided I wanted to start carrying my spare mag AWIB to balance out my pistol a bit. My kydex holster is an old one that I've modified many times so I thought why not add a mag carrier made out of leather.

Here is the hybrid result which I've found to be super comfy.

Looks good, nicely done. How tight is your mag retention?

    Excellent HTZ. Well done.

I have also recently started dabbling in some leatherwork. Out of interest, where did you get your leatherwork tools (metal punches, awl, scalpel etc) and approx. what price did you get them for?

Thank you. Mag retention is good. I was quite surprised. I initially thought of adding a kydex insert for better retention but didn't need to in the end.

Thanks man. I started with a basic set from Amazon and have added a few vintage tools as well. I made a few of my own tools like the stitching pony and strap cutter. I'm also planning on making a splitter at some stage.

I highly recommend this leatherworking channel btw
