Re: What optic are you running on your AR and why?
My Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 runs a Trijicon Reflex RX-30
My Radical Arms\DPMS 300BLK started with a Vortex Crossfire and recently added a flip up 3x Vortex magnifier to it

Re: What optic are you running on your AR and why?
Hope I can post here as it’s not on an AR.
Vortex Spitfire x3 but on an AK101, not in the AR league just yet. I do like that it’s light sensitive and can do green and red illumination.

There is definitely some interesting options and views coming through.
The Trijicon has always been a favourite of mine. Sold a Acog a couple of years ago, and regretting it to this day.

Re: What optic are you running on your AR and why?
I agree with this. Only real downside is I haven't really found a "cheapish" optic that achieves the daylight capable illumination.
I like the Trijicon it's a great optic for what you are generally doing with an AR, but I prefer the Razor HD 1-6 as at 1 power the illumination and reticle are still really fast, but what I like is when you use the magnification the stadia lines are helpful and unobtrusive imo.

Burris RT 1-6x24
https://www.burrisoptics.com/scopes/...scope-1-6x24mm
Seems to get great reviews due to the reticle and the reticle brightness - One I am considering over the Vortex Strike - the others seem way too expensive for what you get.

Re: What optic are you running on your AR and why?
I have an Aimpoint H2 and a Delta Stryker 1-6x24.
The rds feels faster but astigmatism causes the dot to be a short 45 deg blur. I have accepted this and currently enjoy the rds.
I did a bit of research to find something on par with the Vortex Razor and Swaro 1-6 offerings with daylight bright illumination being very high on the priority list so the optic can be used like an rds at 1x magnification. The Delta Stryker was a cheaper option and I like the scope. I do not think this is a true 1x scope however, very close but not exactly.
I like both and currently have the 1-6x24 on my 20" 30-06 because I had some space on this platform :)

Re: What optic are you running on your AR and why?
I have 2,5-12 X 42 with a 30 mm tube on mine. It is used mainly as "Farm Bakkie" rifle and sport shooting in between. At 2,5x I am not as fast as would have been with real "quick shooting" 1 x options, but accuracy is damn good though. I think options and ideas will also differ around what else is available in ones arsenal. For fast and close shooting I prefer my PC Carbine lately with a 1-4 X Bushnell AR Optics on 1x.

Re: What optic are you running on your AR and why?
It is quite interesting, I was thinking more people would run normal red dot but so far it seems there are more magnified versions on FA's than red dots.
