Training ammo for AR10 and FAL

Quality Surplus 308 /7,62x51 has been very scarce lately, so looking for a affordable range alternative for a AR10 and FN FAL.

Anyone have experience running PMP Proamm Soft Point through similar rifles? FMJ Proamm seems very scarce.


Not currently looking at reloading.

I had good results in my FAL with Sellier & Bellot 308Win 147gr FMJ that came in the 50 round boxes.

Early 2021 it was costing R16 a round when I purchased it at Zimbi, so not cheap cw the Norinco steel cased copper washed surplus.

Shooting Stuff was selling the S&B recently for R940 for a box of 50, but their web page currently indicates out of stock.

If only we could purchase the PMP 7.62x51 battle packs!

I love the S&B
Would take a ton if any Gauteng shop had stock
Last 4 or so Shipments from S&B to SA had hardly any 223 FMJ and no 308 or 7,62x39 FMJ

And now with the war now there is no guarantee for any European ammo deliveries anytime soon

Hailstorm has a private sale stash of 7,62x51 ammo available. Limited amount of a few 100 of FNM afaik.
