    I just received an ITAC permit lie 10 minutes ago for a Ruger PC9 Hammer I ordered.

    Very easy. Use to take 2 days. Now 5 to 10 working days as they work remotely. Just download the 1 page application on their site. Fill in and email to them.

    You need to attach your ID and copy of License

    That sound easy. Do you need to register with SARS as a importer or do you only need the ITAC application. As this will make it very easy to ship the scope from the US.

    What is the chance of bringing in say a razor hd scope via checked in baggage?

    Razor HD's fall under the US Munitions List (i.e. ITAR) as they are a current issue Mil Grade Scope.
    You would technically require an export permit...

    Would need to contact the US Department of State for an ITAR permit, there is a cost for it.
    They would also require an ITAC permit from our side.
