The picture is just an illustration from the web but the actual one seems to be the same model.

The model in the above pic is the somewhat rare early "Step Slide" model. See the step in the side of the slide just above the assembly latch. There were not too many of that particular version made, before the sides of the slide became straight. Rough estimates run around 2000 units. Just for interest's sake. I would not modify one of these. The "Straight slide" version needs a sight upgrade urgently. Makes a decent sports gun. With practise, the mag release can be just as fast as the later model's.

That picture is of the one from The Gun Trove which has it for R6k. According to the site it's still for sale so hopefully a Beretta lover will give it a good home rather than it being bought as a beater and getting ruined.

Members, I received this Baretta M92 as a gift two weeks ago. I am sure the Baretta fans will be able to tell me more about these hand guns, my aim is to keep it and use it with my Colt 1911 .45 ACP Model 70 mk 4 .

Here are a few photos of the Baretta I got as a gift

That is just gorgeous. Looks in almost new condition bar very tiny wear.

You are correct, it was all these years lying in a safe ...maybe shot once or twice these past fifteen years ..
