True. That was a viscous and cruel conspiracy from our enemies. But we persevered and fought back. The
underground syndicates who supplied us became lifelong buddies. I even did a bit of bartering myself. But all
very dignified. There is much to be said about honour among smugglers.

    From BushNomad:
I carry a military rectangular waterproof
It has press studs , ties & cords around the edges so that it can be
Variously be configured / used as:

    Rectangular ground sheet
    A-‘frame’ tent shelter (floor + 2 sides )
    Poncho
    Sleeping Bag Cover
    Shade Sail

Its light but strong & can be compactly
    rolled up :
… to perhaps 1ft long by 6”” diameter.

I also carry a thin fully waterproof pullover
Windbreaker that packs into itself to a small bag. Worn over a woollen jersey it is better
    Than an anorak etc

    Also carry
    LeatherMan/Swiss Army Multitool
    Larger Bowie Type Knife
    Spare Car keys
    Dixie pan set
    Etc
    Etc

And Paul reminding us to always take some chocolate to keep the energy levels up.

I keep a milspec Machette in my car and have done so in Moz, Bots, etc. - in the absence of a firearm it gives me some sense of being armed.
