Scam Alert: Sunsmart Solar
I'm unsure where else to put this, but with all the issues with Load Shedding it seems the solar installation industry is rife with scammers.
I have been caught, it is still ongoing to so I'm not going to divulge too many details. Suffice to say they don't seem operate by stealing all you money right off the bat, they take you to about 85% of the investment (with difficulty...) and then more and more excuses.
the website to look out for:
www.sunsmart.co.za
In retrospect quite few warnings on that site already, which I missed, proving even clever people can be stupid.
They seems to operate in the Cape Town area, supposedly in Knysna, PE as well as JHB.
Some sobering reading here, I have been dealing directly with Jonathan Stephenson (the person mentioned in the last two links) as well as a "Grant Mansell", who may or may not be an actual name. He is supposedly in PE.

Re: Scam Alert: Sunsmart Solar
Unfortunately, there are a lot of scammers out there making use of the loadshedding situation to fleece unsuspecting victims.
Good luck and I hope you come right.

Re: Scam Alert: Sunsmart Solar
These days I insist on using an escrow service and if any entity is not willing to do that, then I move on as that is already a red flag for me then.

Re: Scam Alert: Sunsmart Solar
Hi Bundu Ric
Do you have any names of outfits that provide an escrow service?
Cheers
