Deceased ammo question
Hi all
My step dad passed away a few years ago and when my old lady finally decided to clean out his personal stuff she mentioned finding a FA box with an few things in it. I didn’t think much of it as she said there was no FA and I recall he handed in his FA years before he passed.
She recently moved and left the box for me knowing I’m in the process of obtaining my competency. Upon opening it I found some ammo and an old manual.
see attached pic-FYI the ammo is very old
What do i need to do?

Re: Deceased ammo question
Old Ammo usually shoots fine on the range. It should not be kept as SD ammo. Without a licence for the ammunition you are not allowed to store it. (Remember Oscar was charged for having his fathers ammo in his safe.) Legally you should hand it into a gun dealer to dispose of. It may not be sold or traded. If you have someone with a valid licence they may store it for you or take it off your hands.

Re: Deceased ammo question
Give it to a buddy who has the appropriate licence.

Re: Deceased ammo question
As mentioned above, a good friend with a licence for that caliber may take it a keep it for you in his/her safe. Not saying you will get it back though.

Re: Deceased ammo question
If that mag belongs to a Sig P230 in .380 auto/9 short I'd like to buy the mag and manual.

This is 9mm Short. I can't use it.
Pull the rounds, or you could be the next news story about an illegal arms cache.War is convincing young people to kill complete strangers who are not a threat to them personally.
