I actually have my DFO asking us to take a photocopy of the front and back of the card and keep that in a file. I politely told them: "No!" - I'm not going to make that kind of admin for myself when it's NOT a requirement.
BTW, I have, in the past, signed out a gun for a client where I have delivered this gun to them personally. I am happy with that as I am happy to have RAM sign in the register for guns they take to clients. All the SAPS really want is SOMEONE to sign the register... and we hope it never becomes a problem."Always remember to pillage before you burn"

Update…..
It’s seems that it’s completely legal to move the firearm between dealers.
I’ve confirmed with my DFO, Safari & Outdoor and two local gunshops. All parties happy with sending or receiving the firearm.
Now I wait for RAM to collect.
