    The type of terrain where one hunt will obviously also have an influence on the type of rest, if any, you choose. In thick bush where shots are within 100m a hunter, who is a good offhand shot, will be hampered rather than helped by shooting sticks and will have absolutely no need for a bipod. In open country where longer shots are the norm some form of rest will make your life a lot easier.

    The ability to shoot well offhand make shooting from any kind of rest a lot easier.

    I made a set of quad sticks a couple of seasons ago and really enjoy using them. We have to use a guide on the farms we hunt so he carries the sticks.

    I shoot standing up only since they don't collapse.
