power stations under attack?
As received from Kloof CPF....
For any areas in Kloof that have just gone out.
Massive explosion/fire seen over Nazereth. Huge portion of upper highway is out.
Could be the same substation that blew again.
I will keep you posted.

Two more substations in Vdbp that might also have been given the same treatment just before the long weekend. Same area, same timeframe, ...

Re: power stations under attack?
Substation in Unitaspark X1 vandalized on 10 April 2022 and transformer had to be replaced. Left us without power for 2 days. Poor maintenance on the transformers have also caused many a problem. Illegal connections also create overload situations. The whole electrical system is in a very poor state all over the Vaal. The "electricians" do not have the necessary skills to ensure a proper working system.

Yeah... let's not look for a great criminal conspiracy where corruption and incompetence is the more likely cause.

The same all over the country. My parents live in a small town in the EC. The municipal electricians don't know how to change a light bulb. The one techie was a petrol attendant at Caltex. They literally don't have a roll of insulation tape in their store. When there is a fault, they have to get technicians from elsewhere to make the repair.

Re: power stations under attack?
I wouldn't discount organised sabotage. Where the ANC is involved there is a criminal conspiracy by definition. They are more gang than functioning government and the gang is at war with itself. Last year's 'spontaneous outbreak' of anger at the treatment of the ex Capo at the hands of the Con Court provides a template of the damage the factions are prepared to do to the country in furtherance of their aims. The incompetence and general corruption are just dingleberry cherries on top of the shit cake.

Re: power stations under attack?
We had a 4 day outage. It was resolved when a 50 something year old guy arrived from some distant part of the city, entered the substation building and reset the breakers. I shit you not. I watched him do it and chatted to him afterwards. He said that resetting breakers was a big part of his job. Eskom has 40+ thousand very expensive staff but a critical shortage of the skills required to identify and reset breakers. That's progress.

Re: power stations under attack?
When Lynette's best friend from school left for NZ about 10 years ago - she was GM Operations for Joburg Water - she told us to invest in Jojo tanks.
We have a significant investment in Jojo tanks... and solar panels and Lithium batteries... and precious metals such as lead and brass."Always remember to pillage before you burn"

Re: power stations under attack?
Ja, if 13 years of more or less organised power blackouts in tandem with massive price increases hasn't convinced you of the fact that the ANC and it's deployees are incapable of running first world infrastructure then the inevitable collapse of the water supply should do it.
