Re: Traveling to Lesotho
The borders are now under a new agency or something and they are not like the SAPS . It appears they are focussed on things previously overlooked.
The searching of vehicles are becoming a thing .
Smuggling of diamonds and such is an issue .live out your imagination , not your history.

Re: Traveling to Lesotho
Last 2 times I went through the border they did not even bother checking the back of the bakkie, either side, but regardless of that its still a damn good idea to obey the law

In guessing that being caught with a smuggled FA and ammo in one of our neighbouring countries would leave long lasting dents.

Re: Traveling to Lesotho
I once took my SD gun to Botswana only to find out that it was also not allowed. I did manage to leave it at the SAPS station at the border. However, they typically don't allow it. They will tell you to storr it at the nearest police station, and you may have to make prior arrangements to do so.
