While that's true comfort shouldn't be the deciding factor in selecting what you carry and how. Given the freedom to dress in a way that made it easy a CZ 75 in a high riding Ross OWB or Carter kydex IWB was my EDC recipe for nearly 20 years. That recipe when deployed from concealment still betters any of the others I've got now ITO speed and effectiveness.

So this necro prompted me to send a quick "watsup" message to the buddy involved (who is now a dad as well) to ask my usual question of "so when are you getting a shotgun?".

The lol response tells me everything I need to know. Some people - despite all evidence to the contrary - simply do not believe that anything bad could happen to them.
