I am helping an old firearms legend getting some cashflow improvements. His name is Rick Pascoe.

I have no idea what a fair price for it is, hence trying to identify it.

It is for sale but I would like to try and get the best price, not a bargain for it if that makes any sense.

I saw something similar to that in Zimbabwe (ex Rhodesia)in 1980. I don’t think it was issued, I think the guys used to buy it instead of using issued webbing. Towards the end of the war, lots of troops were experimenting with new webbing styles away from WWII patterns.

It could have made its way to SA then. Does it have any labels?

Looks very similar to the SWATF kit.

Seems it was custom kit used by recces. I think I saw a 32bat jacket that used the same base jacket with different pouches.

Some mention it also looking very similar to Niemoller. Suspect this is a older version.

    Good man, Grobbies.

The battlejacket is one of those designed and manufactured by Three Spears ... which was set up by Johan Niemoller to produce kit for Recces and others. Remember the 'butterfly' frames on the pre Pat 84 and later Pat 84 packs? Those were also Three Spears.

Suspect that there would be collectors in hard currency land who would be interested.
