    No luck yet.
Massive US demand and now Ukraine war are being blamed.

Closest seems to be PMP 308 143gr bulk currently:
    960 rounds https://www.euroopticafrica.co.za/30...0--contai.aspx
    1260 rounds https://www.euroopticafrica.co.za/30...imed-Crat.aspx
At those prices they can sit and rot in their strong room.

Johann gave me some discount, so it worked out at R14.66 per round, excluding the transport cost from Stellenbosch.

Yep 20 rounds per box, 7 boxes in a battlepack, 9 battlepacks in a crate => 1260 rounds in total.

The battlepack concept is well thought out - 1 20 round box for the R1 magazine on the rifle, and 6 boxes for the six R1 magazines carried on the webbing.

I have an original Rhodesian ammo vest that got lots of use so I sent to a guy and had him make me an exact copy using flecktarn material.
It holds 6 FN or G3 mags and had make the straps extra long so it would fit over body armor if needed.
The orignal now hangs on den wall.

Zimbi has the PMP 308 143GR FMJ plain brown boxes of 20 now in stock for R380 - so R19 per round.

I'm possibly considering clearing out some of my older FMJ stock to convert it into other hunting and SD ammo stock or reloading components etc.

What would a good price negotiation starting point be for a bundle of a couple hundred (between 2 and 3)
7.62x51 FMJ 143gr manufactuted between date stamps 83 to 90 in SA?
    The good stuff...
(NO, it doesn't belong in a museum)

Looking at messages above it seems an achievable and realistic market value is possibly around R15 plus but may be affected by the point below but I doubt it?

Regarding the packaging which may or may not affect a pricing point.
No fancy factory boxes or original packaging is included, all is loose stock to grab handfuls at my leisure...😂
(stored in my carefully selected fancy custom aftermarket packaging sponsored by various ice cream manufacturers or my non branded low key polystyrene coolerbox manufacturer...)

    Note:
This is NOT a subtly placed for sale lure or advertisement to generate interest.
Please don't PM me to enquire to buy.

I would appreciate a genuine price guideline indication for a realistic and achievable price point and value.
I need to weigh up if it is worth moving these to put the value into my other calibres use.

    I would say R13-15.
Any lower than that and you'd rather keep it.
Cheapest I've seen 308 ammo going for recently is R18 and over

With the scarcity of ammunition. I wouldn't sell.

    True words.
I am in 2 minds, on the one hand I'm not feeding a SLR and on the other my old K98 needs a decent hunting rifle replacement to walk in it's tracks (someday when funds for a new purchase permit) so chasing handfuls of lead down range is not a priority.
It's fun ammo to shoot though...

I really am in 2 minds, refer to the message above.

Thanks to you and BBT for your feedback, I'll weigh up the pros and cons.
