    Default Zebra recipe

    Hi fellow Gunsiters

A colleague has given me some zebra meat.

    Thanks

I eat zebra all the time.
    It's fillets though....

But I treat them the same as other venison.
    1/3 Worshestershire Sauce
    1/3 lemon juice
    1/3 olive oil

Marinade for 12 - 24 hrs, turning occasionally. Use your favourite braai salt or just salt and pepper on the braai.
It works well, even on beef steaks that hasn't had time to mature

    And doneness? Medium? Well done?

If you treating it like venison i take it there isn't much of a fat content to it ??

Lot of salt and olive oil. Bake on a pine board at low heat in oven for 90 minutes. Give the meat to the dog and eat the pine board.

I have never and will never eat Zebra. I am not into horse meat. But it is just me.

I know a gent that makes great (according to the people eating it) Salami from Zebra meat. Maybe you can try that as well.
