I was at a club shoot earlier this year and one of the shooters was using paper hulled Swartklip. That must have been getting on for older than me!

But the ammo still went bang didn't it...?
And probably still pack a decent punch.

Like my batch of 1984 (or thereabouts) headstamp 7.62x51, ammo still does what it needs to and does so effectively :-)

100% reliable. Every one went bang and cycled through his Mossberg 500 perfectly.

I've got some lead for my own bullet casting, but only a modest quantity. When my good buddy Richard Bowman died at the early age of 62 two months ago, he left behind a lot of firearm related stuff. Including half a tonne of pure lead that he'd got from an X Ray place or something. Shortly before his death he told me that I was welcome to it for R20 per kg to his estate. I thought "OK I'll get it when his house is cleaned out and sold by the executor." My mistake - one of the executor's first tasks was, because there was so much stuff, to get rid of the easy stuff first. That included selling the lead to a scrap dealer within a day or so of Richard's death. Win some lose some, hey?
