Re: FA Serial number different to DFO actioned SMS
So it seems then all I can do is wait for the license and then try and fix via a gunsmith report and the SAPS change form.
Based on some of the answers it looks like a manual entry and not an actually pulling of the serial number on the system across the various processes. Hence how a I become a 1.

Re: FA Serial number different to DFO actioned SMS
In my case I can't see how else it could have happened (i fill the applications as pdf files on the pc) unless the error was made when the gun was imported and that error was in the system when my license went in. That seems unlikely as the serials would have come from the manufacturer/agent and they would be familiar with the format which is all numeric in the case of this one.

Yes agree, therefore I will ask the dealer to understand the process to try and figure out if the DFO is just not willing to correct the capturing error or if the serial number was actually incorrectly captured by whoever does it when the firearms is going from importer to dealer.

Maybe ask on the Gosa Facebook page aswell. You might be waiting for years before you take pocession of your rifle.Could you not cancel and re submit? Just for interstate sake, i licensed a tikka 22 the other day. The dfo picked up that the system has the serial number on the barrel and the 350 form had it on the receiver. I had to back to gun shop to verify, 350 was correct and she was able to change it on the system before we submitted
