GSD breeders
Hi GS,
My GF is looking for a good GSD breeder. She’s an ecologist who’s in the field quite often, and an avid cyclist. So she’s looking for a sof that can accompany her on field trips and shorter (20-30 km) cycles.
Does anyone know of a GSD breeder who focus on working dogs rather than show dogs?

Re: GSD breeders
Does GSD stand for German Shepherd Dog?
I like the look of Hausbende in George.

Re: GSD breeders
Caution on their dogs. They are insanely wired, just under under Belgian Malinois type of intensity.
Took mine regularly for a 20k run next to me whilst cycling and when we came back home he still wanted more. Mine also climbed on obsticles like slides in a park after my daughter. Could not stand up without him ready to go.
They need to be outside working constantly.
But awesome dogs.

Re: GSD breeders
West lines should also fit the bill but are less intensive.
DDR GSD are something else.

Re: GSD breeders
Thanks for all the replies! I’ll have a look at West lines, seems like a good match.
Hausbende’s dogs looks stunning, but I’d prefer something closer to Gauteng (sorry, should have mentioned that we’re in PTA).

Re: GSD breeders
Thanks for the first hand info Noost. We are planning to get a GSD for my dad when he retires so it is good info.
