Drier, warmer climate in most of SA probably also plays a role in respiratory illnesses.

    Indeed it does.

A properly worn, well fitted N95 is a totally different thing to these bits of cloth people call masks. If the virus was scaled up to the size of a ping pong ball, then the gaps alongside your nose would be roughly 3-5kms wide. It's all been theatre

Proper fit and form, donned correctly, n95 had a max efficacy of 3% against covid.

Sample of 1 so apocryphal at the very best. In the late 70's I spent a year and a half in South London when my father was seconded to the UK head office of the company he worked for. I went to the local suburban school and was amazed by a few things one of which was that it didn't have a field. The whole place was concrete and most of the kids I befriended never went outdoors for leisure activities and pretty much never got into contact with earth or grass. The local cub troop I joined didn't do an outdoor activity of any sort in the time I belonged to it. Another thing that was surprising is that I was the only kid in the school of a few hundred kids who got a 100% attendance award in the time I was there. Looking back on it now I'm no longer surprised. Running around a farm, sleeping with dogs, eating food cooked in a shovel and playing in cow shit doesn't guarantee you a healthier life but it seems to help. The disinfecting mania that persists among some people after covid is bound to have some effects on the immune systems of kids growing up through it.

Everything in health should be based on proper science, and its here that things got murky real quick. You had doctors demonstrating how the masks catch droplets when coughing or sneezing, which I understand, but it’s got nothing to do with an airborne virus, and then you had doctors putting on 6 masks showing it still does not prevent particles coming through, aka it’s ineffective.

In the other thread I asked if anybody did a randomized, double blind control trial about the effectiveness of masks against airborne viruses, and nothing, the world only used observational trials at best. It’s hard to ask entire populations to do something based on nothing, well not ask but rather force people to do something based on nothing, that only turns them against any real science you might want to add in the mix.

It’s like communism, never worked anywhere no matter how many times you try, still next time another virus comes along we’ll be back on masks, and when asked why since it did not work last time we’ll hear we’ll it might work this time.

Trying something over and over and expecting a different result, there is a saying about that.

Well to be honest, getting sick is a part of life no matter how good your immune system is.
For example back in the days we also got perfect attendance, but that is not because we did not get sick, we were told “jy GAAN skool toe!” no matter how much we acted up.

I live in one of those towns where people say they moved here on doctor's orders. I've met about a handful.
The fact that my firearms or vehicle does not rust easily is a big pleasure
