Now Krugerrands, you're on to something.
They'll have to bring a big pile of USD. It might not have value forever. First prize is crypto. Then Kruger Rands.

Crypto... nee man, it's backed by nothing and is just 1's and 0's. It's taken a nose dive recently, even BTC is down 60%. What percentage of businesses in SA accept crypto, it must be tiny. The local supermarket doesn't.
Besides, who says you will have access to the internet when trouble hits. Gold is physical and you can trade, buy and barter with it.

The expected trouble could be because of the planned arrests.

Not holding breath that anything will come of this, even a tiny bit.

    They both have their place.

For bartering, consider things that people will need to use in their daily lives. Lighters, matches, batteries, dry foods, even clothing. If things get bad, people can't eat gold (or crypto for that matter).

For sure, diversity is key, but there are countries now where their currency has collapsed and gold is traded for services and goods. But of course food and water before gold.

Unless you can add to the skills pool, you're just a waste of rations.

However if you come bearing Kruger Rands, USD or crypto, I might reconsider my position....
    Exactly my feeling.

If you want to come, bring ammo and i don't mean a box of 20 hunting rifle rounds that's 15 years old and you better bring 6 months worth of food.

Have you guys been watching the news.

Apparently SAPS pulled off a huge operation and arrested a whole bunch of people at the same time in relation to inciting the 2021 riots. And more arrests are on the way.

Saw it on the DSTV news channels.
