Mossberg Maverick 88 or 500ATP8

Hi Guys,

I'm being offered either a Maverick 88 18" or a Mossberg 500ATPB 21" for the same price. Both guns are from a private sale , seller only wants to sell one of the 2.

Which would be a better buy for me for general use and HD. The 88 is in pristine condition , the 500ATP8 has some scratches on it here and there but in good condition.

You cant extend the tube on the 88.
Its a 5+1 and will stay like that unless you gunsmith the crap out of it…

Thanks for the info,

I settled for the 500 ATP8 , although its quite an old gun its seems to have been well kept , wood still good. Just hope spares will not be an issue.
