Imagine you're a lifelong military officer, promoted up the ranks in service to your country and you get told to gear up for military exercises and a show of force because of an 82 year old woman visiting a place your country says is theirs.

I am completly torn about this.

On one hand I obviously don't want a war started.
But on the other hand this is Nancy Pelosi we are talking about. Having her plane shot down is just too good to be true..

The trick is to understand why the states are doing it, does she need to visit Taiwan, no, can the states back down from threats if they want to preserve the status quo, no.

Having the right to visit a specific country is not part of this debate.

Jinping cannot be seen to be weak. If he doesn’t make good on his threats he loses a lot of pull in the CCP. I’d be surprised if all that comes from this is sabre rattling and stern words.

Its a sad day in History if a war has to start over Pelosi. The person who sounds drunk every time she is on TV.
    And delusional as well.

Im sure if they strike a match next to her she will burst into flames from all the alcohol in her.

And what is use of sending the speaker to another country.

At some point the world will need to stop bending the knee to threats.
Russia, China and North Korea threaten far too much

China would be more of a threat simply by war of attrition, they have the bodies, and they not scared to use them as a meat bridge.

Russias performance in Ukraine kind of eliminates them in modern warfare, they have been sending kids with three months in the service to frontline battles.
Not to say they not a threat, but their lack of domestic manufacturing for many parts (chips etc) means they would only have so much gear to use

Pelosi, otherwise known as Vodka Skeletor

China needs no antagonising by the US to start some kind of war, though one would not be surprised if that was the US's intention. Though China acting like some sort of world dictator should **** right off.

What about the One China agreement? Did it fall away?

I read USA's biggest chip manufacturer is in Taiwan but their medicine comes from China. Chips over meds?
