    Default Olight vs Emalent

Emalent seems cheaper. I only ever used olight.

Would appreciate the input of owners of both brands.

    Things that matter to me.

    1 battery life
2 after market service (personally had a wonderful experience with olight)
3 are the Emalents as bright as they are advertised? I see according to torchsa some of the Emalents are 50000 lumens whereas olights brightest torch is 18000 lumens.

Havent used Emalent, but have experience with a few Olight products.

My 2c... they are very well built and usually innovative for what they are - really premium quality feel (top-tier china).

Very bright in general and good battery life. You can tell, there is a lot of attention to detail going into their products.

I never had any problems with any of my lights from Torchguy. Acebeam or Sofirn.

Barring one light I've generally been very happy with my Olights. Of course, I would be because I'm a cheapo and they're "just as good"

That said it would be nice to see what other brands have to offer.

480BC and TorchSA have a wider range. Would be nice to hear thoughts on the Speras, Manker and Imalent ranges.

That said, this looks like a good deal for a compact EDC light. I will say I prefer this to my current Baton 3.

Ok I think im going be olight loyal as there doesn't seem to be many first hand reviews from Emalent owners.

But now im a little confused about there being three different olight websites:
    1) https://olight.co.za/
    2) https://m.olightstore.co.za/
    3) https://olightsa.co.za/

Which one of these gave me a torch worth almost 2k at the huntex because mine wasn't lekker? I won't hesitate giving that one my money again.

Olightstore would be the official one.

Otherwise work through Duane at 480BC (if he still deals in Olight).

I’m an Olight fan myself and have too many of them, but after having done Nitecore and Olight, I settled on Olight. Far more innovation and UI’s that are getting standardised, where I needed to learn the UI of every new Nitecore I got.

I am a big Olight fan too, great products, been ysing them for 10 years now and still have my original M1X striker from back then.

That said I have been carrying a Manker MC11 for 10 months and I'm super impressed with its output and beam distance, suckered is bright.

All newer LED torches will be in the same boat of course, it comes down to reliability and battery life. The later is dependant on light intensity settings used on average.

My take is TorchSA isn't in the business of constant returns and replacements and what they stock can be used with confidence.

Test a new torch as an edc during the day and if going out at night takeba trusted option until your confidence in the new brand is cemented.

I've used Olight, Manker , Trustfire and Powertac torches and am happy with all of them. I'm sure Imalent is right there too.

I have a bunch of olight products bought over the last 8 or so years. The only one that has failed is the little rechargeable keychain light that has been in daily use for more than 5. When i see how completely beat up it's exterior is i can't really fault it for giving up.
