    Default pietta bp revolver

    Hey guys

Im very interested in buying a .44 pietta revolver, the blued version but i have heard a guy say that after every 3rd or 4th shooting session the revolver have to be re-blued. Has anyone here had this expierence? Is it true? And what do you guys think of the .44 Pietta 1858 new army revolver?

I have an Uberti - There is no way it need to be reblued! Just clean it well and you should have no problems. Don't clean it, You'll have to reblue!!!

Like farmer says clean it properly after each use, using hot water and sunlight soap and reoil. I normally use Balistoil.

I have a Pietta 1860 full frame Colt.

Raygor. The 1858 is a solid pistol rather than the colt. I own the colt 1860, as Reinhard does, except in Pietta. The 1858 Remmington has a top strap thus making it stronger. I just always wanted a Colt 1851 or 1860.

I have a Pietta 1851 Navy Colt. Sannadex + the rest. I was advised to use 30gr loads. Now is that 30gr what I measure on my normal re-loading scale or the brass volumtceic gadget I use for my BP rifle loads????

Black powder and Sannadex are measured on volume.
