Outdoor beams recommendations
Afternoon everyone,
I'm looking to add beans to my DSC alarm system. Are there any brands models you would recommend?
One side of the house had a pool near by, not sure if water plays a role in beam effecacy.
Rest of the house is the usual general garden bushes / trees. Walls that surround the property are between 5 and 15 meters away.
There is also a small dog and a cat, so pets need to be considered.
I'm open to any suggestions wired / wireless.
Thanks in advance,
Julius

Re: Outdoor beams recommendations
Atsumi wireless PIR if your alarm can accommodate wireless PIR's. Covers 90deg, excellent quality, less false alarms, low mounted.

Re: Outdoor beams recommendations
Roboguard, these will be independent of your current system. But highly recommended.

Re: Outdoor beams recommendations
Reflection off the pool water plays havoc with PIR's.
I have had good success with Paradox outdoor passives.
Recently installed a HIKvision Pyronix outdoor passive, been good so far, had it about 3 months.

Re: Outdoor beams recommendations
Adding additional units to the DSC system may or may not be an issue but will be determined by the type of panel installed and the availability of spare zones on the panel and the compatibility of the units to add in.
An alternative (but costly alternative) if the DSC system is not suitable for an upgrade is to consider an AJAX alarm system.
It is a wireless alarm system, has Advanced features and you can add units as you like.
You can build onto the system and add or delete as you need.
Battery life on the individual sensors is good and the individual units can be monitored on operation, battery life etc.
