Default Re: Barrel replacement - new court decision

If you already have a licence for a given calibre and you are replacing the barrel in the same calibre = barrel replacement.

Calibre change = new licence even if using an action that you may have licenced.

I had my barrel replaced recently and CFR refused me twice because i had 4 firearms to my name and the insisted that i had to get dedicated status if i wanted to replace my shot out barrel.I told them the gunsmith would destroy the old barrel and i didnt want it back.Long story short...i had to get dedicated status then only did they approve the new barrel.so now i have two license cards to shoot one rifle, one card for the existing old rifle with the action serial number and the other card has the barrel serial number.i have to carry both cards to take one rifle. All this took more than a year.

That is ridiculous. Let us hope that common sense prevails in future .
