    Default Early morning hunt.

Left home just before sunrise this morning, after an hour long walk through wet grass, with water logged boots and pants wet to the knee, I found this young wildebeest bull and two of his friends, both older and larger. A 280m, front angled shot with a .30-'06 and 167gr Peregrine bullets settled the matter.

Excellent result. May I ask how do you range, and before or after shot? Was the shot taken from shooting sticks?

The shot was taken from 4Deadhold shooting sticks fitted with the 5th leg. I range before shooting using a Leica rangefinder/bino, unless I guestimate the shot to be within 200m, then I just shoot.

No, that bush is several kilometers from this one.

Looking at the grass cover and water in the first picture, the reserve should have enough forage for the winter months.
