Just slightly off topic, what is your current shortlist for an AR Type PCC

If you want an AR on a budget then the CQA is for you.

It's doesn't have a fancy name, competition credentials, attention to detail with respect to finishings but boy does it run!

There are good few ranges who've had these as range hires and they ran well past a number of other stand-ins.

Spend the rest of the money on ammo.

Can they still be found new? The ones I handled were all rough looking but their owners were more than happy with their performance and reliability. Dont think I ever came across anyone who'd actually owned one that said it was crap.

I don't have money to look at things anymore - so no idea.

Did a group buy with some buddies a good few years back. Bought 3 of them from DSG. They were considerably well finished compared to others I've seen.

Ran like a bat out of hell. Biggest regret was selling that gun.

I didn't buy one when I could afford to have done so on impulse. Regret that quite a bit.

Have not seen any available new for a while now. Sold for around R12k when they were available, doubt they will be anywhere near that price now.

    Anytime :-)

    Decide on a caliber.

Get a budget then you can decide on a platform.

Good advice on this thread. Ultimately it comes down to budget
Recent studies show that 1 out of every 3 liberals are just as dumb as the other 2

Yeah think we paid around that price but then Magpul'ed the neck out of it.

Very solid gun and to be honest, my decision was based on PDH's comments about his personal experiences with them.

I would say first decision would be what you want to do with it because to shoot a 223 often cost a ton of money. If you want to shoot a lot, rather get a 9mm pcc. You can shoot a lot for not a lot of money. Even to reload for a 223 will cost you at least 5× more than a 9mm. My pcc hits about 140mm low at 100m , ja a 124 gn bullet will not do the same as a 223 but if you cannot practice enough to get/keep your skills up-to-date due to financial constraints it doesn't help a lot. Enjoy the journey.
